Record label, release schedule and stuff.

August 1, 2024
As we told you before, Jewel Throne is no longer an unsigned band. From now on our releases will be handled by Inverse Records - the first release will be a single, the title track of our forthcoming album. Blood Vultures will be released on all major streaming platforms on July 24. 2024. Another single will be released in early September, and the album in October. The album will also be released as a CD version, which is very fucking nice. Yeah!

No longer unsigned.

June 8, 2024
Jewel Throne is no longer an unsigned band. There will be two more singles before the album gets released (and it will also be released on CD, which may be a bit old-fashioned, but then we ARE a bit old-fashioned, too).

As usual: more info later. In the meantime keep on listening to our music online. Thank you.

New single out soon!

May 4, 2024

Our new single Megaton Headshot will be released digitally on 11 May 2024. There will be - as usual - a lyric video released on the same day. Before the album there will be yet another single released on a later date. The album will be out digitally and there will be a CD version available, at least that's what the plan is at the moment. Yes, vinyl version would be a dream come true, but... yeah. Let's see how things go.

Decisions, changes, mixing, etc.
February 15, 2024
In January we made some decisions and changes, which included the people we work with on this album *and* EP project. But now the end is near. At least it looks (sounds) a lot like it. It's not like we are completely done with a finished "product" in our hands yet, though... errr... yeah. Soon. Got to start thinking about another single and some cover (f)art.
Gigs this year? More likely than not.

Final mixing & mastering session has been booked, it's on 2 March.
New single out in January!
December 15.2023
Mental Self-Mutilation will be released on 5 January 2024 on Spotify and other streaming sites. Here's the link to the Spotify pre-save page. We are proud of our new stuff, hope you like it too!

Men at work.
May 24, 2023
We have complete backing tracks ready for a few songs now, but it's still a long way to go before we can start recording any vocals. Mister Kurikka spent some extra time in the studio re-recording some drum tracks he wasn't satisfied with after all. Mister Koskinen and mister Sallanen continue doing their bits and pieces, so there is something going on. Slowly. So there's no way we can give any exact dates when you'll get to hear new Jewel Throne shit, but... July 2023?

Maybe.

PS. 2 out of 4 members of the band just had Covid-19, so the fucking virus IS still out there doing its dirty work. No one died, though. Perhaps that's a good thing.

Guitars, more drums & stuff.
April 20, 2023
Guitar recordings for the album (working title: Beneath Contempt) begin early next week, bass/chainsaw noises a bit later.
We also booked 2 extra studio days in May for more drum recordings to re-record a few bits and pieces that according to Mister Drummer Man Himself were not quite as good as they should have been. That's OK. I mean what mister Kurikka wants, he also fucking gets: no edited drum takes, no triggers, no click tracks, absolutely no bullshit!
Life, photos, domain and recording the debut album.
April 14, 2023
It's been about 8 months since this site was last updated, sorry about that, but this website has been more or less a side project when compared to our social media sites, to be brutally honest.
We'll try to be more active in the future since as of today we have our own domain (jewelthrone.net).

Anyways...

We had to abandon the recording session we had planned for September 2022 because of, well... private issues. Let's just say that life and all the bullshit that sometimes comes with it happened. We managed to have a photo session in August 2022 just before we were supposed to start the recordings but then shit hit the fan.
Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves we chose to spend our time well - we wrote more new shit and managed to come up with some of the best songs we have ever written. Just a few days ago we finished recording drum tracks for twenty (20) songs in studio and yes, we are definitely recording our debut album at the moment.
Despite the amount of the songs, it will not be a double album. There will be an album and a bunch of other releases later in 2023.

Since we are right in the middle of recordings, we can't say anything about release dates or much else since we don't even know which songs will go on the album and which songs will be used elsewhere and/or which ones may never get released. We have a title for the album though: Beneath Contempt. Of course, as always, this may change too since we are really shit when trying to decide about things.

That's all for now. Keep on fuckin' rockin'.
Former Jewel Throne guitarist's new project!
July 22. 2022
Our former guitarist, founding member of JT and all-round good guy, mister Jari Yrjänäinen (on the left in that photo - that's actually our very first band photo shot before we had any releases out) has kept himself busy with all sorts of strange shit since he was one of us. Among other things he has been recording some good new metal music with his new project Rongoteus, so check it out... respect!

Some news and endless babbling about... stuff.
June 06, 2022

Now we know a bit more about our future - we will record our new tunes in September 2022. The ideal solution for us old turds would be to release everything and anything we do on vinyl, but it is kind of obvious that it will not happen any time soon without someone investing in our shit. So it will be a digital release as usual unless some worthwhile possibilities all of a sudden appear out of nowhere!

But that is actually not a problem per se - we will just (as usual) record stuff and release it on our own on all the major streaming sites. It will most likely never fucking ever get us noticed much or anything, but that's not a problem either. It's not like we don't take our music seriously, but it's not a matter of life and death or fame and fortune or whatever for us. We are way too ancient for any rock star fantasies anyway.

The most important thing for us after all is to get some new stuff recorded. Everything else after that is a sort of a bonus. You see, for us the thing is really done after we are done with the recordings. The urge to create something has already been satisfied and it's time to move on to the next new thing. So that's basically the philosophy (or lack of it) behind everything Jewel Throne has done so far and so it shall be in the future. We'd be more than glad to work with someone if someone is interested, but it's not really the goal we have set for ourselves - we have already achieved our goal by recording and releasing our music ourselves. Independently.
Future recording plans explained (vaguely)
April 28. 2022
Our new tunes sound really great and we are moving a bit further from what we sounded early on and are trying to make the music a bit more interesting. "New tunes" in this case means stuff that was written in 2021 and early 2022 that we are rehearsing at the moment.
The real question is however what and when we will actually record. However we already know where we will record stuff. It will be the first time we don't go totally DIY with the recordings. The latest EP was of course not mixed/mastered by us but the next recording project will be done differently. That means not recording anything at our rehearsal space.

Vague enough?

Good.
Working with new stuff/some future plans
April 9, 2022
We are busy rehearsing a couple of our new tunes at the moment and while doing that we have also worked with something that could (sort of) be considered a cover song that we may or may not play live once that kind of thing happens. It sounds great now but whether or not it will be used as a part of our live set remains to be seen.
"A live set?" Yes. That is definitely something we are planning to do.
There has also been some discussion about recording some of the new songs. Maybe in June, maybe later.

Jewel Throne website opened
March 25, 2022
Ah, yes, here we go... this is the brand new Jewel Throne website. We didn't really ever feel like we needed one but that one moron with a four string chainsaw decided to make one anyway. Perhaps this will be a nice tool to make ourselves more well known despite all these social media things we are already using. It's not like we are much known outside of our rehearsal space anyway. Yet.
We'll try to keep this site updated too with all sorts of strange stuff now and then, so add the site to your bookmarks and listen to our music.
